We were honored when Jillian Hastings, Mother, Freelance Product Development Manager and small business supporter gave us a shoutout on her Instagram feed. We had to learn more about Jillian, a veteran in fashion & accessories, and why Mother Oxford was special to her.
Briefly share what a day in the life of you looks like
I get myself ready for the day at 7:30am before my daughter wakes up 30 min later on the dot... always! I then get her ready, head downstairs to make us breakfast and make my coffee... there’s nothing better to me than the first sip of coffee in the morning. We then spend some time playing together mixed with watching the Today Show until her afternoon nap comes around. While she sleeps I switch gears and work on my freelance job that focuses on product development over at Studs, a piercing and fashion jewelry company based here in NYC. Once her nap is over, we have lunch and head out for a walk. My evening consists of more play time/work email until dinner. Late nights during the week typically end with me planning out content for my social media account, @things.jill.needs, that supports small businesses like Mother Oxford and indulging in some reality TV on Bravo. My current favs are Real Housewives of Dallas, Summer House, and Southern Charm.
Why has Mother Oxford made it into your closet, and why should it be in others'?
I needed a shirt that made me put together with minimal effort. I love the technical details that went into the design and it’s truly one of the best button down shirts I own... rather my favorite shirt in my closet!
You don’t have to be a mother to love this shirt. I love the styling versatility and I’m constantly wearing and washing it and it still has that crisp fabric feel. What is your favorite way to wear your Mother Oxford - how do you style it?
My favorite way is the one sided tuck so I appreciate the thoughtfulness around the side slits so I can achieve this look. I also wear it tied. I’ll soon be wearing it untucked as baby number two is on the way!
